The Superyacht Forum: Collaboration, Innovation and Sector Alignment in Amsterdam
Superyacht Innovations
The superyacht sector is entering a period where operational systems, workforce structures and sustainability goals all require stronger alignment across the industry. As vessel technology becomes more interconnected and expectations for safety and performance increase, organisations are looking for shared frameworks rather than isolated solutions. This context shapes the direction of The Superyacht Forum, which places collaboration and cross-sector engagement at the centre of its programme.
A Forum Built Around Integration
According to the organisers, superyacht systems are moving toward more integrated approaches that connect safety processes, energy systems, digital tools and onboard user experience. The Forum states that alignment across all stakeholders is essential, and seven major superyacht associations have contributed directly to the structure of the programme.
Focus of This Year’s Programme
The organisers describe the event as a platform for examining new approaches in design, operations, sustainability and workforce development. The current “NXT” edition is built around rethinking established practices and exploring next-generation technologies, along with human-centred leadership and long-term industry capability.
Keynotes Announced
The Forum will open with Gunter Pauli, who will discuss regenerative technologies and the Porrima vessel as an example of alternative system design thinking.
Dagmar Symes will explore human-centred hospitality and service management, drawing on experience in luxury hospitality and retail.
Designer Pauline van Dongen will examine how smart textiles and solar materials may influence the future of superyacht design.
Sector Collaboration
Two “NXT Level” sessions focus on industry-wide challenges:
• Operational Safety Reset – a structured brainstorm addressing uneven safety practices and variable ISM application. Captains, engineers and compliance specialists will contribute to a practical framework.
• Recruitment: Bridging the Talent Gap – exploring gaps between crew recruitment processes and onboard realities, with participation from organisations including Viking Crew, Bluewater Yachting, Crewdentials, Arrow Monaco, Crew Unlimited and Hill Robinson.
Networking and Continued Engagement
The Forum emphasises networking as a core value. The programme includes dedicated networking time, informal evening gatherings, and a closing event designed to support open conversation. A dedicated app is available to help participants coordinate meetings and maintain connections before, during and after the Forum.
