Finnish Marine Technology at METStrade 2025

Finnish Marine Companies

Finland presents a wide range of marine technologies at METStrade 2025. The national pavilion, organised by Finnboat, covers materials, propulsion, electronics, heating, insulation, and digital systems. Below is a technical overview grouped by category.

Decking, Surfaces & Materials

Brand ID – Smartdeck HEAT is a heated composite deck system. Heating elements are embedded in the deck laminate for uniform temperature control. The material remains lightweight, non-slip and recyclable.
Toppi – Produces extruded polymer profiles. Rub rails and edge profiles use UV-stabilised plastics for long-term outdoor exposure.
Lahnakoski – Manufactures oars and paddles from wood, aluminium and composites. Designs focus on predictable flex and durability.

Metal & Structural Components

Jukova / TriDeck – Supplies aluminium cast and machined components such as bollards, handrail fittings and structural details. Alloys are selected for strength and corrosion resistance.
Velcron – Develops injection-moulded marine components using high-strength engineering plastics. Products include cleats, handles and functional fittings.

Insulation, Upholstery & Interior Systems

Meluton – Produces acoustic and thermal insulation using multilayer foam and fibre structures. New upholstery options include moisture-resistant surface films.
VA-Varuste – Provides fitted marine textiles using digital patterning. Products include canopies, covers and marine upholstery designed for long-term outdoor use.

Surface Finishing & Composites Work

Mirka – Supplies abrasives and sanding systems. Dust-free tools use integrated extraction channels to control particle spread during composite and gelcoat preparation.

Electronics, Displays & Digital Control

Navix – Builds modular helm consoles and electronic panels. Units use prefabricated wiring harnesses and single-cable interfaces to simplify integration.
Nextfour Solutions – The Q Experience platform integrates navigation, engine data and system monitoring. Q Guard provides remote vessel alerts via cellular networks.

Propulsion, Energy & Mechanical Systems

Oceanvolt – Develops electric and hybrid propulsion systems with permanent-magnet motors and modular energy-management units. Regeneration is supported under sail.
Safire – Produces diesel heaters and ceramic cooking appliances designed for efficient combustion and low fuel use.
Wallas – Offers diesel heaters, stoves and ovens using closed combustion and forced-air systems suitable for cold climates.
Nawa – Provides stainless-steel and nylon deck hardware including fender baskets, rope-handling systems and fastening components.

These companies together present Finland’s technical capabilities across materials, propulsion, digital integration and marine systems engineering at METStrade 2025.
