Grants That Can Support Boat Building Projects in Europe

Boat builders can access a range of grants that support innovation, sustainability, and regional development. These programmes focus on cleaner propulsion, advanced materials, coastal economies, and modern shipyard capabilities.

Horizon Europe offers grants for research and development in naval architecture, electrification, hydrogen systems, and autonomy. Calls often target zero-emission vessels, lightweight composites, and digital shipbuilding.

The European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) provides support for modernising shipyards, improving energy efficiency, upgrading small coastal vessels, and strengthening the blue economy.

The LIFE Programme supports environmental initiatives, including reducing emissions, protecting marine ecosystems, and improving waste and recycling processes in boat construction.
